What is unique about your peers’ selected study? How do the study findings contribute to the areas of anatomy and physiology or to your personal life and career? 100 words per response

The major role of our skeletal system is to protect such as our scull incases our brain protecting it and keeping it in place also our ribs are there to protect our lungs and heart. Also, our skeletal system is there to help us maintain balance and posture and it is essential to keeping us up and moving. The skeletal system also builds bloods cells in various locations for example the main sites of this happenings is the ilium, vertebra, sternum, and the ribs (Lippert 13).

The muscular system is there to help move your bones; your brain sends signal to your muscles telling them to tighten or loosen. I like to look at it this way in a guy’s point of view when operating a piece of an equipment such as an excavator “track hoe”, you are the brain of the machine when you want the arm to extend out you send a signal “in this case hydraulic fluid” through the lines to the muscle “hydraulic cylinder” to react. The muscular system work in much of the same way.

The study I have found was to compare three development methods on muscular strength and mass in healthy ageing woman. This study was performed with thirty-two healthy 62-75-year-old women and were randomly placed in three groups and committed to 4 sessions of the study exercise given. The first group (SC) was to climb up and down 300 stairs per session. The second group (ES) was to perform an electrostimulation on the quadriceps. The third group (SC+EC) was to perform electrostimulation combined with stair climbing (Paillard T. 2004)

The findings of the study were that these women all had increase in muscle strength, yet showed no noticeable increase in muscle mass.

The weakness of this study is it was only performed over a six-week period. I feel if this same study was held over a six-month period it would have had more noticeable data to record.

The study at hand relates to me as a younger guy in high school I attended the weight lifting team and always wanted to be bulkier. However, I worked out through high school and as my strength increased my physique did not I was still a skinny guy with a chiseled appearance but never acquired the bulkier look I wanted. So, in the study listed below I can see that the strengths of these younger (older) woman would increase yet their age and metabolism may play a different tune when it comes to an increase in muscle mass.

Even though undefined, notifying employees that internet monitoring software is being  utilized should be the first thing perspective employees are made aware of before being hired. Monitoring/Restricting software

ensures that employees don’t visit websites that can be harmful to the company’s infrastructure, in addition, monitoring software can make sure employees are not trading or stealing company secrets.

Furthermore, I believe that it is ethically sound to monitor employee’s computer activity if it’s in the best interest of the company. For example, while working for the State of Michigan, whenever an employee logged into

the system, the system would capture the employee’s id number and the location that he/she was logged in from.

In addition, the system was setup to block unauthorized websites which could potentially have a virus or Trojan. Any company should have a vested interest in the security of their company and the software that is being

utilized, which should include their employee’s online activity if it’s not job related.

There should be safeguards as well as due process for any in advertently visited sites. For instance, typing in the wrong phrase or misspelling a word can lead to whole lot of unwanted attention and will almost certainly

trigger a virus.

As far as the business implications for employees’ personal use of company assets, “Almost everything you do on your office computer can be monitored.  Such monitoring is virtually unregulated. Therefore, unless

company policy specifically states otherwise (and even this is not assured), your employer may listen, watch and read most of your workplace communications.  Courts often have found that when employees are using an

employer’s equipment, their expectation of privacy is limited” (Privacy Rights Clearinghouse, 2017).

With the jewelry company in this scenario, I would use internal memos to inform employees of the company’s concerns and to inform them of the computer monitoring software.

The Control Process

The Control Process

The control process involves three phases that are cyclic: establishing standards, measuring performance, and correcting deviations. Examine the manner in which health care leaders progress through each phase of the control process to manage organizations.  What is the management function of controlling as related to performance improvement?  What tools are used to measure and monitor performance?  Please describe at least two functions and two tools in your response.

The primary function of human resource management is to increase the effectiveness and contribution of employees in the attainment of organizational goals and objectives. Consider all the areas of HRM that have been discussed in class:

  • EEO and Affirmative Action,
  • Human resources planning, recruitment, and selection,
  • Human resources development,
  • Compensation and benefits,
  • Safety and Health, and
  • Employee and labor relations.

Submit a Reflective Paper in which you explain how these aspects work together to perform that primary function.  Are any aspects more important than the others?  Why or why not?  How do you believe the HRM role can be optimized for shaping organizational and employee behavior?

The Reflective Paper must:  (a) identify the main issues in the chosen area, (b) demonstrate new learning that has occurred, (c) include class activities or incidents that facilitated learning and understanding, (d) identify specific current and/or future applications and relevance to your workplace, and (e) reflect the potential impact to your future career plans or even in your personal life at home.  The emphasis of the Reflective Paper should be on parts ‘d’ and ‘e,’ and on the application of new learning.  Explore, in depth, the benefits of the new learning and understanding that has taken place.

2-4 pages & a spreadsheet with risks listed

For the Unit 1 assignments use the attached scenario. Review the scenario first and then continue on with your assignment. Consider saving the PDF or printing it out for your reference.

You have been meeting with the CEO, the project sponsor, your manager, and the heads of all the other departments to discuss the project and their expectations. You are starting to be concerned about the level of risk of this project and whether or not the organization really understands it. Assignment 2

Larry Landlord has recently renovated an apartment and has put it on the market to be rented for $800.00 a month. Larry Landlord has been in business for approximately five (5) years and has had both positive and negative experiences with tenants. Larry Landlord is hoping to find a good, long-term tenant for his apartment. Roger Renter saw Larry’s sign for the apartment for rent and thought the location and the apartment would be perfect. Roger met Larry to look at the apartment and Roger fell in love with it. All of the interior fixtures had been replaced and the unit had a nice large closet. Roger noticed that although newly painted, the exterior of the apartment did show a little bit of wear. Because of the condition of the exterior of the building, Roger asked Larry about any roof leaks. Larry stated that he had never had a leak and was not aware of any leaks.

Roger and Larry entered into a valid contract for the rental of the apartment. (Note: The issue of whether or not a contract exists is NOT part of this question. For purposes of this question assume the contract is valid and there are no issues with the contract.)

Roger Renter was very happy in his new location; the apartment was quiet and the neighbors were friendly. Larry Landlord was also very happy because Roger Renter was a model tenant. Roger Renter paid on time and was quiet and respectful to other tenants.

The part of the country where Roger rented was rainy in the summertime. Roger rented and moved into the apartment in October. In June, a tremendous rainstorm occurred and Roger’s roof began to leak. The leak was minor at first and Roger merely put a trash can under the leak and had no other issues that month. When handing over his monthly rent check, Roger told Larry about the small leak. Larry thanked Roger for letting him know about the leak and told Roger he would have it fixed.

The next month the rains came again and the leak grew larger in Roger’s apartment. Roger was not home at the time of the rain and therefore the leak damaged some of Roger’s furniture. Roger called Larry to let him know that there was a leak and asked when it might be fixed. Roger also stated that he thought Larry had fixed the roof. Larry curtly stated, “When it rains, sometimes it pours. When it pours, sometimes it leaks.” Roger did not like Larry’s tone or response and called back to ask when the roof might be fixed. Larry stated, “When I get to it.” The following day, Roger sent Larry a note about the roof leak and asked Larry to please address the issue.

The week before the rent was due, another rainstorm occurred and the leak was even larger. This time the leak damaged Roger’s clothing, furniture, and some precious items he had inherited from family members. Roger called Larry and asked Larry to fix roof immediately. Larry responded in a similar and condescending manner. Roger hung up the phone and threw his baseball bat against the wall, damaging the drywall and knocking out an electrical socket.

Since it was the rainy season, Roger knew it would rain again and therefore simply moved his items away from the leak and did nothing to help mitigate the damage from the leaking roof.

Larry came into the apartment to investigate the leak and found damage from not only the leak but also from the thrown baseball bat. Roger states that the baseball bat damage was a direct result of Larry’s inability to fix the leak based on his anger from Larry’s curt response.

Suppose you are a mediator. In five to seven (5-7) pages discuss the rights and responsibilities of the landlord and the tenant in which you:

1.     Explore the legal rights and responsibilities of the tenant and the landlord.

2.     Decide whether or not the landlord and / or the tenant had a legal duty to mitigate damages.

3.     Determine whether or not Larry has legal grounds to evict Roger. Explain why or why not.

4.     Describe whether or not Roger has a legal obligation to pay for the damage he caused and determine whether or not Larry would be liable for any direct damage.

5.     Support each response with facts presented in the scenario.

6.     Use proper legal terminology throughout your responses.

7.     Use at least three (3) quality academic resources in this assignment
