Focus of the Final Paper You’ve just been hired onto ABC Company as the corporate controller. ABC Company is a manufacturing firm that specializes in making cedar roofing and siding shingles. The company currently has annual sales of around $1.2 million, a 25% increase from the previous year. The company has an aggressive growth target of reaching $3 million annual sales within the next 3 years. The CEO has been trying to find additional products that can leverage the current ABC employee skillset as well as the manufacturing facilities. As the controller of ABC Company, the CEO has come to you with a new opportunity that he’s been working on. The CEO would like to use the some of the shingle scrap materials to build cedar dollhouses. While this new product line would add additional raw materials and be more time-intensive to manufacture than the cedar shingles, this new product line will be able to leverage ABC’s existing manufacturing facilities as well as the current staff. Although this product line will require added expenses, it will provide additional revenue and gross profit to help reach the growth targets. The CEO is relying on you to help decide how this project can be afforded Provide details about the estimated product costs, what is needed to break even on the project, and what level of return this product is expected to provide. In order to help out the CEO, you need to prepare a six- to eight-page report that will contain the following information (including exhibits, but excluding your references and title page). Refer to the accompanying Excel spreadsheet (available through your online course) for some specific cost and profit information to complete the calculations. Final Paper Spreadsheet I. An overall risk profile of the company based on current economic and industry issues that it may be facing. II. Current company cash flow a. You need to complete a cash flow statement for the company using the direct method. b. Once you’ve completed the cash flow statement, answer the following questions: i. What does this statement of cash flow tell you about the sources and uses of the company funds? ii. Is there anything ABC Company can do to improve the cash flow? iii. Can this project be financed with current cash flow from the company? Why or why not? iv. If the company needs additional financing beyond what ABC Company can provide internally (either now or sometime throughout the life of the project), how would you suggest the company obtain the additional financing, equity or corporate debt, and why? III. Product cost: ABC Company believes that it has an additional 5,000 machine hours available in the current facility before it would need to expand. ABC Company uses machine hours to allocate the fixed factory overhead, and units sold to allocate the fixed sales expenses. Bases on current research, ABC Company expects that it will take twice as long to produce the expansion product as it currently takes to produce its existing product. a. What is the product cost for the expansion product under absorption and variable costing? b. By adding this new expansion product, it helps to absorb the fixed factory and sales expenses. How much cheaper does this expansion make the existing product? c. Assuming ABC Company wants a 40% gross margin for the new product, what selling price should it set for the expansion product? d. Assuming the same sales mix of these two products, what are the contribution margins and break-even points by product? IV. Potential investments to accelerate profit: ABC company has the option to purchase additional equipment that will cost about $42,000, and this new equipment will produce the following savings in factory overhead costs over the next five years: Year 1, $15,000 Year 2, $13,000 Year 3, $10,000 Year 4, $10,000 Year 5, $6,000 ABC Company uses the net-present-value method to analyze investments and desires a minimum rate of return of 12% on the equipment. a. What is the net present value of the proposed investment (ignore income taxes and depreciation)? b. Assuming a 5-year straight-line depreciation, how will this impact the factory’s fixed costs for each of the 5 years (and the implied product costs)? What about cash flow? c. Considering the cash flow impact of the equipment as well as the time-value of money, would you recommend that ABC Company purchases the equipment? Why or why not? V. Conclusion: a. What are the major risk factors that you see in this project? b. As the controller and a management accountant, what is your responsibility to this project? c. What do you recommend the CEO do? Writing the Final Paper 1. Must be six to eight double-spaced pages in length, and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. 2. Must include a title page with the following: a. Title of paper b. Student’s name c. Course name and number d. Instructor’s name e. Date submitted 3. Intro. to Philosophy Critique The purpose of a critique is to demonstrate your ability to summarize the arguments of a noted philosopher and examine their arguments in light of the ideas of other thinkers who dealt with the same issues. For each critique, you will select an article from the Voices of Wisdom text, drawing on the Invitation text and related articles in Voices to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the position presented in your chosen article. For example, if your article defends “common sense realism,” you might raise some of Descartes’ arguments against relying on sense experience. Your critique should include your own reflections upon the issues being raised (not just expressing an opinion, but examining the arguments). You should note any logical fallacies, inconsistencies or vagueness you find in the article. Be as specific as possible about your objections. For example, if you note an inconsistency, don’t just say the article was inconsistent but note the specific passage that reveals an inconsistency, and describe the problem. Just saying an article “doesn’t make sense” or is “unclear” won’t do. Relating the article to real-life tests of applicability is always encouraged. Generally critiques will be about 4-6 pages in length, with roughly two-thirds of the paper summing up the article’s argument in your own words, with appropriate citations (using any standard form – Chicago, MLA etc.) to clarify their position. The closing will draw on your other reading and reflection to examine the strengths and weaknesses of the article’s position in light of available alternatives. You might want to make use of basic reference works beyond the text to assist you in understanding the issues, but extensive research beyond the two texts is neither expected nor required. Please don’t hesitate to check with me for any clarification or questions you might have about the article you’re examining (well in advance if you are involved in a class presentation!). If your critiques are submitted when due, one week following the class discussion of the topic being considered, you will have an opportunity to make revisions based upon comments from my teaching assistant and myself. Late papers will be penalized one letter grade for each week they are late, and no papers will be accepted once they are more than three weeks late. Be aware that if you select a topic being discussed late in the semester, there will only be one revision opportunity, since we will need to skip the teaching assistant comment step. Keep in mind that you will also be selecting one of the articles you are critiquing as the basis for preparing an oral presentation, and be aware of the date of that presentation to avoid scheduling conflicts. • Outline and discuss the major categories of reimbursements and costs in a health care organization.  How do they influence each other?
  • In addition, how do expenses and revenues affect the specific types of budgets outlined?

Utilize at least one scholarly source, cited in correct APA format that supports factual statements and conclusions about the topic.  Review several of your classmates’ posts. Provide a substantive response to at least two of your peers by Day 7.

No Header just the typed assignment

Complete the following:

  • Choose 1 consumer product brand to be your “client.” You may choose any consumer brand or select a brand from this list.
  • Review your client’s brand by researching its Web site and other supplemental resources, such as this directory to learn everything you can about the company, its customers, the management team, and anything else that will help you understand its brand.

You are the chief marketing consultant for your company’s brand. Your goal is to help the company create an updated marketing plan by learning to apply the marketing process to communicate how great the company’s brand is to its current and potential customers in the marketplace and market space.

One of the first steps of the marketing plan is to understand the business goals of the project.

Your client has asked you to draft the goals of the marketing plan by suggesting how to use the marketing mix—the 4 Ps of marketing—to help create a marketing proposal to help reposition the brand in the marketplace. The client wants a brief report presentation to help brainstorm the interaction of the 4 marketing Ps and other ideas with the company’s marketing team.

Write a proposal brief showing the goals of the marketing project by illustrating one objective for each marketing P. The brief should include the following sections:

Product Overview

  • Briefly explain the company and brand. Add a picture of the brand.
  • Give an overview of the brand and its current position or perception by customers in the marketplace. For example, do customers seem to think the brand is too expensive compared to its competitors?
  • Identify 1 competitor of this brand and provide a reason why they are a competitor to your client’s brand. Add a picture of the competitor brand.

    Product Objective

  • Draft 1 objective for the marketing proposal to show how product can be applied to your brand. For example, include a statement about the features of the product and the benefits of those features for the customer, or a new product satisfaction guarantee policy.

    Price Objective

  • Draft 1 objective of the marketing proposal to show how price can be applied to your brand. For example, consider how to possibly discount the price for a short time in an advertising campaign to entice current and new customers to try the product or competitively price the product against its competitors for maximizing market share.

    Place Objective

  • Draft 1 objective of the marketing proposal to show how place can be applied to your brand. Examples include introducing the product in an online capacity to gain market share, or finding numerous distribution outlets for the product.

    Promotion Objective

  • Draft 1 objective of the marketing proposal to show how promotion can be applied to your brand. For example, one message could be to explain the quality of the brand over the competition, or a special promotion offering a 25% discount on the first online purchase as another way to increase brand awareness.

    Conclusion

  • Summarize your understanding of how the 4 Ps are linked for this particular brand.
